The greens at Kyabram Bowling Club have had some preparation and are ready for practice.

Firstly, Congratulations to Paul Newman, Belinda Lee and the entire Kyabram Football/Netball Club on their magnificent 2016 season and their premierships, from the Kyabram Bowls Club.

Midweek Pennant this year is starting at 10am. Roll up and everything else needs to be completed beforehand. Have a great season.

The Gift Night on Wednesday October 5, run by the Shilling family is going to be a big night. We call on all club members to support this great cause to write their names on the list as a participant or a helper.

The first week of the THK Triples is at Kyabram this week. Make sure your team is right for a big first week. Please be available if you are asked to help make up a team. It will be a great help to the organisers and it is important for the success of the triples.

Managers and interested people should contact Mal Williams for help with submitting pennant scores online to the GVBD.

Saturday is Grand final Day. We will have pre-game bowls and barbecue starting at 11:00 Come, enjoy a bowl then watch the AFL Grand Final with friends.

Thanks to all the helpers with the greens and the surrounds. They are coming up a treat.

Our Development Officer has been working at the clubrooms on Wednesday Mornings. Sponsorship and teams for the Barefoot Bowls starting on Wednesday October 12 are on the agenda at this time. Members who can organise a family or friends team should contact Georgia at or ring the club at 5852 1096.

St Augustine’s Staff have booked the Bowls Club through Georgia for a function on Friday October 7. We need four helpers for the bar and setting up the bowling part of the afternoon.

The GVBD 60 and over singles draw is out for the ladies. The draw for the ladies Championship is up. The first round is on the Friday October 7.

Pennant Training for everyone continues this Thursday. Drills and practice opportunities will be set up on one green with the other being for teams and general practice. The Thursday night barbecue will commence this Thursday as well. It’s still $5 a head for meat, salad and bread.

The Annual Practice match against Moama was held last Saturday. The Moama players enjoyed their Barbecue and fellowship but were soundly beaten on the greens. Kyabram reversed last year’s result winning 280-220. Congratulations to the selectors for putting together the teams for the day.

The 100 Up list with all those who paid up early is on the board. Any other players who want to play in the 100 up please put your name on the list. It closes on October 7. There are still some places for anyone who wants to be a permanent reserve rather than playing every week in the THK Triples. Please get you names phone numbers and email addresses to Rob Sceney to be on this list.

The club will hold a full scale pennant practice next Sunday October 2 at 1 pm at the Club green. This is for all members and intending members. If you are unavailable please ring Joe on 0428 552466. No need to wear our club gear. If you have any preferences re your position in a team , please make this known to the selectors.

At this stage we have several players away so it is important to be at training this Thursday. The training commences at 4 pm and you must play east-west so as to protect our green. Good luck to all our mid-week players who began on Tuesday September 27.

Thanks to all the workers for the jobs that you have carried out to make sure the club is in the best condition for the new season.

Thursday meals commence on October 6 at 6 pm.
