Footy season is almost upon us and there is some exciting news coming out of Kyabram Junior Football Club.

The club will be entering an under 10 side in the Goulburn Campaspe Junior Football League, along with its existing under 12 and 14 sides.

Club president Justin Barnett was upbeat about grade three and four students having the opportunity to play competitive football locally.

‘‘There are many kids who have participated in Auskick previously and are now ready for the stepping stone into junior football,’’ he said.

‘‘The club is excited that for the first time in Kyabram, under 10 footballers can play competitive football in town.

‘‘The Kyabram Junior Football Club is providing a modified environment for them.’’

Jason Norman was selected to take charge of the side and said there has been plenty of local registration for the new team.

Rod O’Neill and Scott Fleming will continue their role as coaches of the under 14 and under 12 teams respectively.

Kyabram Junior Football Group will hold a registration night and first training session for all under 10, 12 and 14 players on Wednesday, March 15 from 4:30pm at the Haslem St oval.

Players will receive a free pie and drink to celebrate the coming season.
