Twilight croquet is drawing to a close with only two more evenings to go.

TWILIGHT croquet is drawing to a close with only two more evenings to go.

Last week as we had fewer players attend it was decided we would only play “Aussie” croquet.

Games were played on smaller “B” grade courts which gave everyone a better chance of “pegging out” at the end of each game.

Doubles was played in the first round and singles for the following rounds, this meant scores were higher than previous weeks as the most that each player can score in singles is seven points while it is up to 14 points for doubles.

The four “peg” awards given out were: Great hoop maker – Maxine Schumann; Best stop shot – Rayleen McDonald; Most improved – Jane Cox; Hoop of the night – Robbin Jansen.

The scores were close again with three people scoring 40 or more points.

The overall winner was Annelie Metzger, 42pts , with Jane Cox and Maxine Schumann equal second on 40.

It’s not too late to join us on Thursday evenings from 7pm, we will introduce you to a fun game that is suitable for all ages, equipment is available, please wear flat-soled shoes, a light supper is provided at the end of the evening
