TONGALA’S reserves and under 14 football teams both bowed out of their respective premiership fights in the Murray Football League on Saturday.
In elimination finals at Mulwala, the reserves found Numurkah too strong and in the under 14s Deniliquin Rams beat the young Blues.
The reserves were never really in it after a six goals to two opening term by Numurkah.
From then on Tongala was playing catch-up footy, eventually going down by 55 points.
Tim Densley, Lewis Cooper and Logan Church served Tongala best with support from Layton McGann who kicked two goals, Jordan Morrison and Tim Cipriani.
The under 14s also got away to a slow start and never got into the contest against the Deni Rams, going down by 30 points.
The young Blues had standouts in Mackenzie Cowley, Hudson Kellett and Max Watson who were well supported by Harley Reid, Ryan Hatch and Bailey Marsh.
