Kyabram croquet notes

By Kyabram Free Press

Kyabram Croquet Club has continued playing throughout the stage three lockdown with numbers limited to 10 players maximum, but as it is “singles play only”, KCC has opted to set its limit to eight players, as there are only two A grade courts available.

KCC is willing to add more sessions on playing days, should the need arise.

So far players from several other clubs have travelled to Kyabram to play, as they are unable to access their own courts.

This has been great for our members, as the GVCA has cancelled the pennant season for 2020.

It is great to have some extra competition at our Monday and Thursday morning sessions.

Last Thursday saw two Victorian members of the Rich River Club join us for three games.

It is much easier to social distance when playing singles, as each player uses two balls in each game — no consultation needed with a partner.

KCC is happy to welcome new players to join us on these days, but suggests they book in first to make sure they get a game.

Cost to non-members is $8 for up to three hours, checking-in time is 9.30am for a 10am start.

All equipment is supplied, all we ask is that you please wear flat-soled shoes to protect the court surface.
